Have you ever Google’d the phrase ‘voices in my head’? Be careful! Lol. 😂
Here are a few of my favorites.
3 out 4 voices in my head want to sleep. The other wants to know if penguins have knees.
I hate it when the voices in my head go silent. I never know what they’re planning.
Honest Question — Can I get Caller ID for the voices in my head?
I even took the liberty to create a couple of fake memes. Here you go!
The truth is that we would make better choices and ultimately become much healthier (emotionally and spiritually) if we used Philippians 4:8 as a filter for everything we watch and listen to.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.~Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
Paul says, “Fix your thoughts!” Then he tells us specifically what to fix our thoughts on.
If we are going to fix our thoughts, there are two important things that will help.
1. Guard what you watch
2. Guard what you listen to
In other words, ask yourself the following question before playing your Spotify playlist or binging Netflix: Is this true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or worthy of praise?
There are lots of voices screaming for your attention–and most of them aren’t good. This is why it’s vital to heed Paul’s words in Philippians…and in the following passages from Colossians and Romans.
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
~Colossians 3:1-2 (NLT)
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.Romans 12:2 (NLT)

Look what God can do when we allow Him to fix our thoughts!
Not only did I have the opportunity to preach this message last weekend–I was privileged to watch 15 people go public with their faith through water baptism.
This couple (above) brought their 4 children to our Easter Eggstravaganza, decided to attend one of our services the next day (for the first time). They committed their lives to Christ and this group of photos is the result!
This is Brittany. Several weeks ago I stopped the worship service because I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit that someone in the service had just prayed, “God if you’re real, I need you to speak directly to me right now.” I rarely do things like this, by the way. Brittany acknowledged that it was and her…and then through tears she recommitted her life to Christ…and was baptized last Sunday!
Here are a few more photos from the weekend.
